Nathanyael Grey Says Goodbye to GENERAL HOSPITAL

That’s a wrap on Nathanyael Grey’s run as Mason on GENERAL HOSPITAL. Although the guy had a plan to throw the blame for Ava’s kidnapping onto Austin, Cyrus kiboshed that idea and promised Mason he would be well taken care of in Pentonville. And while that might sound like a threat — especially coming from Cyrus! — it seems he did mean what he said in the Nov. 14 episode.

A rep for the soap confirmed to Soap Opera Digest that this was Grey’s last episode, at least for the time being. Since he’s not being killed off, who knows if Mason might get out early for good behavior at some point down the road!

When Grey joined the cast of GH as Austin’s shifty cousin back in June 2022, he honestly didn’t expect to be around for a week, let alone over a year! “I was hired for three episodes,” he confided to Digest. “I’ve been waiting to die for like, forever! But Frank [Valentini, GH’s executive producer] told me on my fourth episode that he really liked what I did as an actor and he wanted to use me more. So I was like, ‘Okay!’”

Now, a year and a half later, Grey’s run as the villainous Mason has finally come to an end. “I’ve told Frank countless times, ‘Thank you so much,’” the actor declared. “‘And when you finally kill me, I’ll have to say, it’s been a fun ride!’ I honestly must say, of everything I’ve ever worked on — every commercial, every play, every TV show, and every movie — my favorite job I’ve ever had is GH, that’s a 100% fact.”

Well, since Mason wasn’t killed off, maybe Grey will be able to have some more fun in Port Charles one day. In soaps, you never know what twists and turns are ahead!
