Nicolas Bechtel Asks Fans to Send His Sister Love as She Battles COVID
Please join us in sending love to Nicole Bechtel, the sister of GENERAL HOSPITAL fan fave Nicholas Bechtel (Spencer). “Sad day for me,” the young actor tweeted. “My sister, who is away at school, tested positive for COVID. She’s healthy and strong but she’s very sick and she’s alone. Seven to 10 days in isolation can’t be easy. Please put some positivity out there for her. I appreciate it.”
Nicole, who turned 18 back in July 2020, left to attend the University of San Diego in September. “Not having her in the house is going to be strange,” Bechtel admitted at the time. “Her venturing out on her own is going to be scary but she’s excited so I’m excited for her.” Bechtel considers Nicole not only his big sister but his best friend, so this is particularly difficult for him not to be able to be there for her.
Naturally, fans responded with nothing but love, as did some of Bechtel’s former GH castmates. “Oh no, poor Coco,” tweeted Brooklyn Rae Silzer (Emma). “Sending lots of love and prayers to her.” Eden McCoy (Josslyn) replied with heart and flower emojis, writing, “Thinking of you, Nicole! Feel better soon!”
GH fans have loved Bechtel ever since he debuted as the irrepressible Spencer Cassadine back in May 2013. Although his starring role in the Disney Channel series STUCK IN THE MIDDLE meant that starting in 2016, his appearances in Port Charles became more sporadic. His last visit to the soap was in January 2020 when Ava and Nikolas visited him at boarding school and he was upset at his father for faking his own death. Bechtel could also be seen in the 2020 movie I Still Believe, about musician Jeremy Camp.
So please help us in wishing Nicole a full and speedy recovery from COVID-19 and for a day very soon when we no longer have to worry about this dangerous virus.
