Parry Shen Says a Special Goodbye to TV Sons Theo and Erik Olson
Fans were surprised when they tuned into the Sept. 28 episode of GENERAL HOSPITAL and saw a new Wiley on screen. And as Theo and Erik Olson’s mother took to social media to explain why her twins were no longer on the soap, Parry Shen (Brad) also shared some photos and videos as he said a heartfelt farewell to the twins who played his adopted son on GH. “There was no way I was gonna let Theo and Erik Olson relocate to France this summer without seeing them for one last time,” he declared with a teary emoji.
The Olsons are already enjoying their new life in Paris so Shen clearly paid the boys a visit before the big move took place and held onto this post until after the news broke. “I’ll miss these two extraordinarily well-behaved, delightful, and charming kiddos,” he admitted. “And their mom, Jacks, was a huge part of it all. She not only was a new mom, but new to this entire crazy business! However, she was like a seasoned pro — knowing when to step in to calm her kids and when to step away and stay hidden so they wouldn’t get distracted.”
The Olson twins played Wiley right from his birth in 2018 as Nelle delivered the infant in the woods and gave him to Brad, who had just lost the baby he and husband Lucas had adopted. Naturally, the baby switch was eventually revealed and Wiley was returned to his rightful father, Michael. (And Willow, since Nelle wasn’t granted visitation rights from the judge for obvious reasons!) “Although I feel like I’m losing ‘em all over again (first when sent away to TV prison and now with them living in France),” Shen wrote, “I’m so grateful the GH baby switch storyline brought us all together and those memories are now forever preserved in TV history. All the best with this new chapter and until we meet again, Olson Family!”
In Shen’s Instagram post below, you can see the photos that he took with Theo and Erik as well as their mother, and also including his own family, wife Kim and their daughters Avery and Kori. Plus, a throwback pic of Shen and then co-star Ryan Carnes (ex-Lucas) holding the twins, a promo from the baby switch reveal, and a super-cute video of Shen pretend burping with the boys! “And remember, boys,” he added. “You can burp as many times as your heart desires, as long as you say, ‘Excuse me!’”
Naturally, the boys responded with nothing but love. “Aawww, Parry!” they commented (via their mom). “Thank you so much for everything!” We know you’re all joining us in missing Theo and Erik now that they’ve left GH, but please also join us in wishing them all the best in the future!
