Rebecca Herbst Shares Bad News With Fans
The GENERAL HOSPITAL Fan Club Weekend is coming up at the end of the month, running from Thursday, July 27, through Sunday, July 30, at the Embassy Suites in Glendale, CA. And while many stars from the soap will be attending to get up close and personal with their fans, one, unfortunately, will not.
Despite tweeting on June 17 that she was “so excited” about her upcoming private event on Friday, July 28, Rebecca Herbst (Liz) broke the news to fans on July 5 that she will not be attending the weekend after all.
“Just wanted to let you guys know, due to personal reasons, I will no longer be having an event this year at Fan Club Weekend,” the actress shared on social media. “To those of you who purchased tickets, I know you’ve been contacted, but I’m so very sorry to cancel. I truly am.”
Herbst has been a fan favorite on GH since she joined the cast as Elizabeth Webber in August 1997 and in fact, when ABC announced in January 2011 that the actress had been let go, her fans rallied and protested until the network reversed its decision and Herbst remained with the soap.
However, Herbst urged fans disappointed in missing out on her private event to attend the one hosted by Tabyana Ali (Trina). “But the exciting news is, this beautiful soul has taken the time slot!” she revealed. “I highly suggest if you have the chance to meet her, do it! Her energy alone will fill you up. I promise you will not stop laughing.”
