Shortly after Robert Palmer Watkins exited GENERAL HOSPITAL as Dillon Quartermaine, the charismatic actor was cast as the lead in an independent thriller, Last Three Days. And finally, more than three years later, the movie has been released for streaming on video on demand! “Glad this movie is finally out!” Watkins announced on Instagram. “Watch it on Apple, Amazon, and most streaming platforms.”
In the movie, Watkins stars as Jack Cluff, an undercover police officer who, after getting mixed up with a crime syndicate, wakes up one morning to discover his partner is gone, his wife has vanished, and he has no memories of the last three days of his life! “It’s been a long time coming,” Watkins told LRMOnline. “We’re excited for the world to finally see it.”
Playing an action hero in Last Three Days was a dream come true for the actor. Especially after having played kinda-nerdy Dillon for two years. “I was on a soap opera at the time, but I was definitely excited to step outside of that role and play a different type of character,” Watkins confessed. “I loved my character on the soap, but I was excited to get to do some action and stunts. And play an undercover cop.”
Getting to do his own stunts was a dream come true for Watkins. “I think that’s one of the funnest parts of being an actor,” he said. And now that he’s had a taste of being an action star, Watkins is hopeful that the opportunity will present itself more often in the future. “This was my first action movie. And definitely my first lead in an action movie. Hopefully, more to come.”
While Last Three Days certainly has all the makings of a crime action movie, Watkins pointed out that there is a romance wrapped up in the story as well. “It was a really fun action movie, but it also had a lot of heart and depth between Jack and his wife,” he revealed. “It’s a really fun ride. I loved the script.”
