Roger Howarth Joins Instagram!
It may be Roger Howarth’s birthday, but his fans are the ones getting a present! The talented actor, who plays GENERAL HOSPITAL’s Austin, has finally joined social media!
Okay, technically, the fan-favorite actor has a Twitter… or X… profile that he created back in 2017, but he hasn’t ever made a post on the platform. However, just three days after joining Instagram — on the occasion of his Sept. 13 birthday — Howarth has already proven to be quite the content creator!
While hanging out in his car, the Daytime Emmy winner made an introductory video. (As if he needs any introduction!) “Hi everybody. My name is Roger Howarth, and I am joining Instagram and I am super excited,” he stated. “It’s my birthday and so for my birthday gift to myself, I’m going to start an Instagram account called The Real Roger Howarth.”
As he continued making his first-ever Instagram Reel, an enthusiastic Howarth confessed that he was looking forward to interacting with his followers. “It’s going to be great. It’s going to be super fun. I’m very excited. I think we should do it. Let’s hang out.”
And that’s when Howarth’s dry sense of humor came out to play. “Let’s you and me, let’s hang out. You, on your phone… while you’re not sleeping…Or on the toilet…or watching, streaming stuff with the subtitles on but it’s still boring so you’re like [purses his lips and mimics scrolling].
“That, just so we’re clear, is my impersonation of you scrolling through,” he continued. “It’s probably super weird for you. Just now, like you were looking in a mirror or something.”
Realizing that he may have taken his comments a step too far, Howarth switched to self-deprecating mode. “Totally great impression,” he confessed, his voice dripping with sarcasm. “Oh my God, I’m alienating everybody already. Here’s the thing: I’m really excited about this. All kidding aside, I think it will be really fun. Please stay tuned. I would love to make a bunch of mischief with you.”
At that point in his Reel, Howarth had a light-bulb moment. “My kids are right; I do talk too much,” he smirked. “But it’s so nice to finally confess that I love Insta,” the GH star concluded, making the popular heart hands symbol to express his affection for the social media platform. “I love you, Insta!”
