See Kin Shriner’s Amazing Tribute to Jerry Lewis

Tags:

As a fan of Old Hollywood, GENERAL HOSPITAL star Kin Shriner (Scott) loves anything to do with classic films and the actors who starred in them. And he recently shared a surprising tribute to the late Jerry Lewis in a post he shared to X with side-by-side photos of him and the show-biz legend.

“Comedian Jerry Lewis could go from comedy to drama so I have tried to give Scotty Baldwin at GH that,” Shriner wrote. “So I salute Jerry and the talented GH makeup girls!”

The photo of Shriner shows him with the right half of his face covered in clown makeup while the left side is normal. It’s a very accurate recreation of the same makeup done on Lewis for the 1984 image used as the cover of Parade Magazine which was shot by award-winning photographer Eddie Adams.

Scotty Baldwin has been involved in quite a lot of drama over the decades on GH, but there’s also a sense of humor to the character that has made him a fan favorite among viewers. Over the course of his career, which includes appearing on other soaps including TEXAS, THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS, and AS THE WORLD TURNS, Shriner has proven himself equally adept at both comedy and drama. (And he’s got the four Daytime Emmy Award nominations to prove it!)

Over on Instagram, Shriner shared a video he shot backstage at GH set to “Circus Clown” by Trixi Septett where you can see a couple of members of the makeup team wearing red clown noses as they prepare to work their magic on the actor. Unfortunately, there’s only one shot of the actual work-in-progress before the final look is revealed. But as a bonus, Carolyn Hennesy (Diane) pops up for a quick cameo in the final shot!
