Soap Alum Tyler Christopher Wraps Another Movie Role!

Tags:

Soap alum Tyler Christopher (ex-Nikolas, GENERAL HOSPITAL; ex-Stefan, DAYS OF OUR LIVES) has added another movie role to his growing resume! According to Variety, the actor has landed a part in the film Murder, Anyone?, an adaptation of a play by the same name written by the late Gordon Bressack.

The movie version of Murder, Anyone? is being directed and produced by Bressack’s son, James Cullen Bressack, as an homage to his late father, a writer who worked on popular animated series such as TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES and PINKY AND THE BRAIN who passed away in 2019. Bressack’s play Murder, Anyone? debuted in 2017 at the White Fire Theatre in Los Angeles, and according to Variety, the younger Bressack’s feature film is a “faithful adaptation” of his father’s play script.

Christopher’s role in Murder, Anyone? actually appears to be yet another movie project for the former GH and DAYS actor. Last month, he shared a post on Instagram that he had a “new look in studio” — which sent his followers into a tizzy hoping that Christopher was back at work on a soap opera. Unfortunately for daytime fans, that didn’t seem to be the case, as Christopher had also shared in his Instagram Stories a post made by actor Ashford J. Thomas, another cast member in the film he was working on at the time. Seeing how none of the actors Thomas tagged in his post promoting that project are listed on the IMDb or in the Variety story for Murder, Anyone? it seems as if Christopher has not one, but two upcoming films for his fans to look forward to!

As for Murder, Anyone?, THE BAY’s Kristos Andrews will star in the comedy along with Spencer Breslin as two playwrights tasked with creating a new “avant-garde, surrealistic, mind-bending neo-noire thriller.” But as they write the story, the collaborators find that every plot twist they add to the script ends up coming to life in real-time in a very real (and frightening) way. According to the IMDb, Christopher will be playing the role of Richard, one of the actors in the play within a play within the film.

“It was truly an honor to be able to bring my father’s words to life,” James Bressack told Variety. “I made a promise to him before he passed away that I would try to make his scripts [into films]. It’s amazing to be able to have helped his words live on.” According to James’ Instagram, production on the film wrapped over the weekend.
