Sofia Mattsson Shows Off Her Fake Baby Bump on GENERAL HOSPITAL

Tags:

No, Sofia Mattsson (Sasha) isn’t really pregnant on GENERAL HOSPITAL… at least not anymore! The scenes viewers are watching now were taped after her maternity leave, so the baby bump the actress is sporting on screen as the character prepares to give birth is courtesy of the wardrobe department!

“So happy and excited to be back at my favorite place,” Mattsson exclaimed on Instagram as she shared a selfie from her GH dressing room. “And this fake belly is a lot lighter to wear than the real one!”

When Sasha revealed she was pregnant with Brando’s baby on GH, Mattsson was finally able to announce her real-life pregnancy without spoiling the storyline. And by the time she confirmed to fans in the middle of June that she was preparing to welcome a baby boy, she was already “almost ready to pop,” as she put it!

And it wasn’t until nearly the end of August that Mattsson shared the first photo of her beautiful baby boy, although she and husband Thomas Payton welcomed their bundle of joy on July 26. And as you can tell from the delays in posting her big news, Mattsson is relatively private about her personal life on social media, so she has not yet publicly revealed her son’s name.

But with Sasha preparing to deliver very soon on GH, viewers will get to watch that one themselves! (And hopefully, she’ll be able to deliver safely in the hospital, which is rarely the case on soap operas!) While a new baby will likely bring happiness to the parents, how might it affect Sasha and Brando’s new relationship? And of course, there’s always his mom, Gladys, to bring unwelcome drama to just about any situation! Stay tuned to see what happens next!
