The Story Behind Jophielle Love’s GH Song “Shine!”

Tags:

On Dec. 8, Jophielle Love (Violet) joined the ranks of the GENERAL HOSPITAL actors who have performed their own music on the soap opera! “I got to sing my first original song as Violet,” the 9-year-old shared on Instagram. “I was a bit nervous but excited for everyone to hear my song.”

During a family gathering at her and Finn’s home — where her Uncle Chase announced that he had proposed to Brook Lynn — Violet ran off into her room because she had a “surprise” to share with the group. Returning with her guitar, she handed the instrument to Chase and declared, “I’m going to sing a song I wrote myself. And Uncle Chase will accompany me.”

Proving just how talented she is, the pint-sized powerhouse nailed her performance! “It was recorded live on set… one take… no auto-tuning there… so be gentle!” she begged of her followers. “I hope you like it!”

Love’s catchy tune has an equally catchy name! “It’s called ‘Shine’ and it will soon be available for the world to enjoy!” she announced. “I wrote it myself. For the music part, I got some help. My coaches and musician friends Derek W. Dooms, Douglas Ladnier, John Shartzer, and my voice coach Juliana Sloan, and our friend, Noah.”

The actress also thanked GH executive producer Frank Valentini for allowing her to perform on the show. “It means the world, and I can’t wait for the next one! I guess at the wedding!” she proclaimed.

In a follow-up post, Love confessed, “Frank made my wish come true when I asked him when he would create a scene for me to sing my own song! Thank you, thank you, thank you!”
