Tyler Christopher Shares His Very Special 50th Birthday Celebration

Tags:

Daytime alum Tyler Christopher (ex-Stefan, DAYS OF OUR LIVES; ex-Nikolas, GENERAL HOSPITAL) hit the big five-oh on Nov. 11 this year and contemplated that milestone in a heartfelt post to Instagram.

“I have fond memories of celebrating my 40th birthday at The Little Beach House in Malibu surrounded by friends,” he recalled. “In the decade since then, my daughter was born, I won an Emmy, was the lead actor in four television shows, completed a dozen movies, lived in a half-dozen states, relapsed and recovered, survived a traumatic brain injury and pandemic, became single again, lost some friends and family, found my savior, embraced God’s will for me, and learned to be content living a quieter life.”

In contrast, this year’s birthday was celebrated slightly differently. “This weekend, I spent my 50th birthday in an obscure Mexican restaurant in Indiana with my two beautiful children,” Christopher revealed. “There is no place I would rather have been than with those two joyous souls. To those who did not think I would make it to 50, I will share my favorite poem: ‘I am the master of my fate. I am the captain of my soul.’ The best is yet to come.”

Former castmate on both soaps Mary Beth Evans (Kayla, DAYS; Katherine, GH) commented: “Happiest of birthdays. We all love you!” And former DAYS co-star and GH dad Stephen Nichols (Steve; Stefan) wrote: “Happy Birthday, buddy. I’m so happy you are sharing this one with your sweet little ones. Keep on doing what you’re doing.”

Christopher starred as Nikolas Cassadine from 1996-99 and again from 2003-2016. He then joined the cast of DAYS as Stefan DiMera, airing from December 2017 until March 2019. The actor has been open about his struggle with his alcohol addiction and recently opened up about nearly dying while going through withdrawal when he suffered a traumatic head injury in a fall.

Please join us in wishing Christopher a very happy 50th birthday and here’s to many, many more!
