Wally Kurth Celebrates His Wedding Anniversary!
Ned has no recollection of being married to Olivia on GENERAL HOSPITAL these days thanks to a bout of amnesia, but portrayer Wally Kurth definitely hasn’t forgotten that he is married to his wife, Debra. And it’s a good thing, too, since the couple recently celebrated a milestone wedding anniversary!
The GH star — who also appears as Justin on DAYS OF OUR LIVES — took to Instagram to share a black and white photo from his and Debra’s wedding day and send a sweet message to his wife two decades after they exchanged their vows. “20 years ago today, Debra and I walked down the aisle with love in our heart,” Kurth wrote. “And happily, we’re still walking that same path of the heart.”
In a second anniversary post featuring the same beautiful photo of the smiling bride and groom walking arm in arm — presumably after being pronounced husband and wife — Kurth thanked his wife for being by his side. “I can’t believe we took this pic on our wedding day 20 years ago. Wow,” he marveled. “Thank you, Debra, for being a beautiful bride and sharing this ride with me. Looking forward to the next 20.”
Kurth and Debra Yuhasz tied the knot on July 4, 2003, and the actor has previously poked fun at their Independence Day anniversary as their “co-dependence” date. The couple welcomed their son, Brogan George, 18, in November 2004.
Debra is not only Kurth’s partner in life, but his partner in music, too! Back in 2021, the couple collaborated on the sweet lullaby that Ned sang to a then-pregnant Brook Lynn. Just before the episode aired on May 10 of that year, GH executive producer Frank Valentini teased the actor’s special performance on Twitter. “Wally Kurth sings a new original song he and his wife wrote!” the exec shared. “It’s beautiful!”
In reply, Kurth took the opportunity to sing his wife’s praises. “Thanks, Frank, for asking me to compose a song for this scene. A nice challenge,” he tweeted. “I wisely enlisted Debra to help with the lyrics, even though she’d never written a song before. I couldn’t be happier with my decision. We had fun collaborating, and now we have to write a second verse!”
