Will Michael and Willow Get Married on GH? — Katelyn MacMullen Speaks Out!
Willow’s battle with leukemia on GENERAL HOSPITAL has brought attention to the real-life issue of finding bone marrow donors and being tested to see if you could possibly help save someone’s life. And actress Katelyn MacMullen opened up about her character’s future in an interview with ABC7 in Chicago.
“It is such an honor,” the actress said of her powerful storyline. “It’s something that is incredibly important to me. I’ve had cancer touch and affect my life, people close to me, as I’m sure so many people have. I’ve even met people along the way that I’ve gotten to talk to who have gotten bone marrow donations and it’s saved their lives. And it’s an incredible honor to be a part of this story.”
But as Willow desperately hopes that a bone marrow donor can be found in time, she’s also eager to tie the knot with Michael before her time runs out. However, while finally finding a bone marrow donor could give the couple time to plan a more elaborate ceremony, the fact that Michael has been secretly plotting against his own father could also spoil the big day.
“I have no idea how that’s going to turn out,” MacMullen confessed. “And honestly, we don’t even know if the wedding will happen. We have to see what happens with Willow’s state of health. I’m truly excited. Because I have no idea what’s going to happen so I’m always so excited to see how it’s going to unfold. I’m sure it’s going to be messy!”
MacMullen is honored to be part of her current storyline but also to be part of the cast of the long-running soap as GH prepares to celebrate its 60th anniversary on April 1. “I feel so grateful to have joined such an amazing cast in such an amazing show,” she declared. “60 years is such an incredible, incredible victory. I mean, we are the longest-running show currently on the air. so to be a part of that… I never could have imagined it. I love this show. I’m still just so shocked that I’m even a part of it!”
