Don’t Miss the Daytime Stars and Strikes Event!
Mark your calendars! The annual Daytime Stars and Strikes fundraiser event is back with four special events in New York City at Port Authority’s Frames Bowling Center on Saturday, Oct. 7, and Sunday, Oct. 8! Proceeds from the events will be going to the Autism Society of America and The Jerry ver Dorn Scholarship Fund. The scholarship sends children with autism to theatre camps tuition-free, honoring the GUIDING LIGHT and ONE LIFE TO LIVE star’s love for theater as well as Daytime Stars and Strikes, which he hosted for nearly two decades.
Kicking off the weekend events on Saturday, Oct. 7, at 2 p.m. ET will be a special play reading featuring AS THE WORLD TURNS alums Trent Dawson (Henry), Michael Park (Jack), and Roger Howarth (Paul, ATWT; Austin, GENERAL HOSPITAL). Following the reading will be an intimate meet and greet with a Q&A session.
Following that, at 8 p.m. ET will be a special concert with Bradley Cole (Richard, GL) and Friends. Some of your favorite soap stars will join Cole and his band on stage with all proceeds going to the Jerry verDorn Scholarship Fund.
Then, on Sunday, Oct. 8, at 12 p.m. ET, Liz Keifer (Blake, GL) and Ron Raines (Alan, GL) co-host the Daytime Stars and Strikes Bowling for Autism event. This year there will be an ‘80s theme and contests for best-dressed, strikes, spares, and the like. Stars currently scheduled to appear to bowl with fans include Grant Aleksander (Phillip, GL), Brian Gaskill (Bobby, ALL MY CHILDREN), Kurt McKinney (Matt, GL), Robert Newman (Josh, GL), and Nancy St. Alban (Michelle, GL).
Following the bowling event at 3:00 is the Fifth Annual Bauer Barbecue, hosted by Rick Bauer himself, Michael O’Leary! Enjoy a Bauer burger as you mingle with the stars, and brush up on your GL trivia. Plus, there’s going to be a bingo game where fans can win name-brand handbags!
