Y&R Star Daniel Goddard’s Beautiful Words to His Wife on Their Anniversary Give Us All the Feels!

Tags:

On his 16th wedding anniversary, THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS star Daniel Goddard (Cane) shared a hilarious and heartfelt message to his wife, Rachael! “16 years ago today I lost my pants,” he posted to Instagram. “Literally lost my pants hours before our wedding! Then, by the grace of God and thankfully for our wedding guests, the hotel found them on a garden path (don’t ask!).

“Anyway, that day I married the love of my life,” Goddard continued. “Fully dressed, I might add, although I was prepared to do it in my undies because when you find your soul mate, you’ll do whatever it takes to marry them! And now, all these years later, she is still my lover, best friend, and mother of my children. Rachael… I adore you! Happy anniversary, my love!”

While the story of how Goddard ended up pantsless just hours before he was to exchange wedding vows in front of friends and family sounds like a good one, it’s just nice that the rest of the big day went off smoothly. After they began dating in August of 1998, the couple tied the knot on Feb. 3, 2002, and has lived happily ever after. They also have two sons, 12-year-old Ford and 9-year-old Sebastian.

Thankfully, Goddard’s real-life romance went a lot smoother than his Y&R alter ego’s! Of course, if Cane had settled down to live happily ever after with Lily and their kids, that might have been a little boring to watch day after day!

You can see just how much Goddard and his wife love each other in the beautiful photos they’ve taken and the lovely words he’s written. Just keep scrolling down for the evidence!
