Happy 58th Anniversary DAYS OF OUR LIVES — See the Changing Cast Over the Years!

Viewers first traveled to Salem on Nov. 8, 1965, making this the 58th anniversary of DAYS OF OUR LIVES. The NBC soap was created by the husband-and-wife team of Ted and Betty Corday, and is currently executive produced by their son, Ken Corday. Due to the show’s success, DAYS was expanded from 30 minutes to a full hour in April 1975 and in subsequent years been syndicated to numerous countries around the world. Although its run on NBC sadly came to an end on Friday, Sept. 9, 2022, the soap didn’t miss a beat, airing its next episode the following Monday, Sept. 12, continuing to air on the streaming service Peacock.

Originally focusing on the Brady and Horton families, DAYS expanded to include others, including the DiMera and Kiriakis clans. Beloved matriarch Alice Horton, played by Frances Reid, remained with the soap from the very beginning right up until the veteran actress passed away in 2010. Currently, the longest-serving member of the cast is Suzanne Rogers (Maggie), who has been appearing on the soap since August 1973. And Susan Seaforth Hayes comes in second, having played Julie at some point during all five decades that DAYS has been on the air.
