ALL MY CHILDREN’s Peter White Dead at 86

Tags:

Veteran actor Peter White died on Nov. 1 at the age of 86. His former ALL MY CHILDREN co-star Kathleen Noone (Ellen) told The Hollywood Reporter that he passed away at his Los Angeles home of melanoma.

Although perhaps best known for playing Alan McCarthy in both the off-Broadway play The Boys in the Band as well as the 1970 film adaptation by William Friedkin, soap fans will remember White for his role of Lincoln “Linc” Tyler, Phoebe’s son on AMC. He played the role from 1974-80 and then continued to make appearances in the years that followed, his final one in 2005.

White also appeared in primetime soaps, playing Arthur Cates on THE COLBYS, Eric Kenderson on FALCON CREST, Bill Rockwell on DYNASTY, Pearson on KNOTS LANDING, and Ellis Newton on DALLAS. He could also be seen in episodes of shows like THE JEFFERSONS, HART TO HART, L.A. LAW, WHO’S THE BOSS, and THE X-FILES. On the big screen, the actor had roles in films like Dave, Armageddon, Thirteen Days, and First Daughter.

Our thoughts are with White’s family and friends during this difficult time.
