During her career, Cady McClain has worked with many talented actors, but she recently took a moment to fondly share some recollections of two daytime legends with whom she worked when she played Dixie on ALL MY CHILDREN.

“I’m really lucky to have worked with two wonderful actors with long histories in the business: James Mitchell (“Uncle Palmer”) and David Canary (“Adam Chandler”) on AMC,” she wrote on Instagram. “Both were disciplined, hardworking men who navigated the industry admirably. They had rich personal lives and were generous colleagues, always willing to give a little more in rehearsal, time to run lines once more. Marvelously supportive and kind to me as well as so many others.”

In the post, McClain shared a pair of vintage photos of herself with the two actors from their time together and opened up about the memories each one brings back.

“The first photo is of James Mitchell and Sarah Gellar (Kendall) attending a production I was blessed to play “Hero” in at Lincoln Center Theater: Much Ado About Nothing, directed by Deloss Brown,” she explained.

“The second is of one of my early days (1988, OMG, Jesus wept!) on AMC,” the actress continued. “David Canary and I bonding over our love of acting and how much fun we were having playing the fantastic story written for us. Neither one of us was cynical in the least. We were passionate and grateful to the core.”

McClain concluded by revealing that she has taken the lessons she learned from those two veteran performers and continues to pay it forward. “Thinking of all my creative friends and colleagues today who have been navigating the terrain for a lifetime,” she declared. “You are with me. And I am with you. Always.”
