ALL MY CHILDREN Vet Walt Willey Is Undergoing Surgery

Tags:

Please join us in sending good vibes to ALL MY CHILDREN veteran Walt Willey (Jackson) as he prepares to have a medical procedure on Wednesday, April 13. The popular Pine Valley leading man shared the news of his upcoming operation on Twitter as he asked his followers to keep him in their thoughts.

“I’m going in for some surgery tomorrow,” Willey tweeted with a healthy dose of humor, “and would appreciate it if you could find it in your hearts to say a prayer, think a good thought, light a candle, or however you may wish to send good vibes my way (no animal sacrifices, please!) as I meet this challenge.”

The former AMC star’s announcement was met by an outpouring of support from fans and colleagues, including Alicia Minshew (Kendall). “Thinking of you and sending prayers, Walt,” she wrote. Even DAYS OF OUR LIVES star Eric Martsolf (Brady) reached out, replying, “Good thoughts, my friend.” And Kassie DePaiva (Eve, DAYS; Blair, ONE LIFE TO LIVE) wrote, “I will my friend… And here’s to a speedy recovery. God be with you.”

As longtime AMC viewers will remember, the beloved actor played Jackson Montgomery — one of Erica Kane’s many loves — on the ABC soap from 1987 until the soap was canceled in 2011. He even crossed over to sister soap THE CITY in the mid-’90s, bringing Jackson from Pine Valley to Manhattan. Since the end of AMC, Willey has continued performing his stand-up comedy act and appeared in several theatrical productions and online soaps. However, more recently, Willey rediscovered his passion for a different form of the arts as a painter. Not too long ago, he opened an Etsy store, WaltWilleyWorkshop, where patrons can purchase his original watercolor portraits or commission custom pieces.

“Thank you all for your tremendous support for me in this new endeavor!” Willey shared on Twitter on April 10. “Having the opportunity to return to my first passion (visual arts) after the gift of such a long career entertaining you — well, to say that I’m grateful hardly covers it!”

We hope that all goes well for Willey during his surgery tomorrow and wish him a speedy recovery!
