B&B’s Young Shares His Emmy Nomination
Jacob Young (Rick, THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL) had set THE TALK to record so he could see the Daytime Emmy nominations, but he had the news of his own Supporting Actor nod spoiled by Twitter! “My curiosity killed the cat,” he admits. “I was happy that I could follow along on Twitter. It’s great, because on Twitter, you can see what people say.”
And the actor insists that the nod is not just for him. “This nomination is everyone’s,” he declares. “All the people who worked with me. Everybody’s been so fantastic, from John [McCook, Eric] to Thorsten [Kaye, Ridge] to Katherine [Kelly Lang, Brooke], too.”
Naturally, Young submitted the episode where Maya dropped the bombshell about Ridge and Caroline to earn the nomination, and plans to submit the same episode for the final judging. “There’s no reason to change it,” he muses. “Let’s go ahead and keep it. I’m happy it was the right episode. It’s great to be nominated.”
Of course, while actors from B&B can submit two half-hour episodes to equal the submissions from the actors on other soaps, he opted to just go with one. “It’s nice to have that option,” Young says, “but at the same time, if you don’t have to… It’s like presenting a sizzle reel you don’t want to bore the audience. Less is more, my friend!”
