THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL Star Heather Tom Responds to Internet Haters — Read Her Passionate Words!
Soap fans are a notoriously vocal group, and when things got ugly on Twitter recently, THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL’s Heather Tom (Katie) fired back!
After the twitter account BBPolls posted that Katie had been voted the least likable female character on the soap, Tom responded with a humorous reply, which clearly wasn’t taken in the spirit in which it was intended.

Their response sparked comments from other B&B viewers who complained both about Katie the character and the actress who portrays her. Tom ultimately responded, “What I will say is I love 100% of you!”

But the damage was done, and the online comments really struck a nerve with the Emmy winner. “Your hate for my character really hurts me,” she wrote. “I get that you don’t like Katie — that’s fine, you’re entitled to your opinion — but your comments are so personal.
“Why would you want me to lose my job?” she added. “That’s how I support my son — Do you just want me to feel bad?”
Then Tom apologized to her Twitter followers. “Sorry for the sob show,” she posted. “Feeling a little emotional this morning. Just don’t know why things have to be so mean-spirited. Makes me not want to post. People should remember that we read these things and I for one take my work really personally. You don’t have to like it, but words can hurt.”
B&B castmate Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke) was quick to support her on-screen sister.
Hi sis! Block them now! There's no reason to listen to negative comments. U r an amazing actress & person! We all love u! 😘 👯

The internet often makes people feel they have the freedom to say whatever they like from behind a shield of anonymity. But as Tom reminds, at the end of the day, we’re all real people with real feelings that can be hurt by insensitive and hateful comments.
