Co-Star Will “Miss” West
Soaps In Depth caught up with THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS’ Christian Jules LeBlanc (Michael) at last night’s DANCING WITH THE STARS finale, and the Emmy winner confessed that he was just as sad as the rest of the daytime world that Maura West has been let go as Y&R’s Diane. “Maura told me,” shares LeBlanc of his co-star, who was given her pink-slip last Friday, May 20, as In Depth first reported.
Although the two daytime powerhouses didn’t share many scenes on Y&R, they did get to play opposite each other in 2005 when LeBlanc’s Michael crossed over to AS THE WORLD TURNS for two episodes dealing with J.J.’s custody battle. “I stalked Maura most of these last few months trying to sneak into scenes with her,” LeBlanc jokes of wishing they’d shared more Y&R screen time. “I wanted to work with her. I know I will work with her again because that’s how it works in this business.”
LeBlanc adds that the Y&R cast is losing a tremendous talent with West’s exit. “I will miss her,” he says. “Maura’s a wonderful, wonderful actress. I cannot tell you how amazed I am at her skill. She knocks my socks off. I know the best will happen for her. I’m trying to be nice to her so she’ll put me in her movies!”
