Exclusive: B&B Officially Renewed!

Last month, buzz was circulating that THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL was close to finalizing a deal with CBS to keep the soap on the air for another two years. Now, Soaps In Depth can reveal that it is indeed a done deal! “Yes… we’re good at two [years],” CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler told In Depth earlier today at the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour.

CBS’ daytime lineup has gone through a series of shakeups over the last few years, with GUIDING LIGHT and AS THE WORLD TURNS being replaced with a revival of LET’S MAKE A DEAL (which has also been renewed for a year), and daily gabfest THE TALK. Now, in light of THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS’ recent three-year renewal, it looks like the Eye Network’s line-up will be more stable. “They’re [all] doing well for us financially,” Tassler says of CBS’ daytime programs. “They’re all profitable. THE TALK is profitable. Both DEAL and THE PRICE IS RIGHT do well for us, too.”
