GL Star Reacts To Tony Nod!

Congratulations are in store for Ron Raines (Alan, GUIDING LIGHT), who has been nominated for a Tony Award for his performance in the Broadway revival of Follies! Not only did Follies receive a nod as Best Revival Of A Musical, but Raines and co-star Danny Burstein will both be competing for the Best Performance By An Actor In A Leading Role In A Musical! In all, Follies garnered eight nominations.

“What a thrill and honor to have received a Tony nomination,” Raines tells Soaps In Depth. “I must say I was a little surprised. It’s a nice gift for me at this stage of the journey.”

The 66th Annual Tony Awards will honor theater professions for distinguished achievement on Broadway with a three-hour ceremony to be broadcast live on Sunday, June 10, at 8 p.m. ET on CBS. Good luck, Mr. Raines!
