How Scott Clifton Missed The Emmy Nominations!
While everyone else in daytime was celebrating the Daytime Emmy nominations when they were announced on Tuesday, March 31, THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL’s Scott Clifton (Liam) was a little late learning he was once again up for Outstanding Supporting Actor!
“I actually didn’t find out until a couple days later,” he confides, “because I’d been on a camping trip in the woods. I’d even forgotten when the nominations were going to be announced! On my way back down the mountain, my phone picked up a signal and suddenly a barrage of congratulatory texts and voicemails hit me all at once. I couldn’t ask for a better, more fun way to find out. What a perfect welcome home surprise!”
Although Clifton has been nominated before for both his work on B&B as well as GENERAL HOSPITAL and ONE LIFE TO LIVE and taking home two trophies over the years this year’s nod means a lot to the actor. “The episode I submitted this year wasn’t a strategic choice,” he says, “as it didn’t seem to fit any of the usual criteria it wasn’t necessarily the most realistic or emotional or nuanced it’s classic soap, like a choreographed dance.
“It’s a performance I’m very proud of,” Clifton continues, “and it tells a story about these two men and their relationship that really resonated with me both on the page, thanks to the poetic wisdom of [writer] Patrick Mulcahey and on the screen, thanks to the masterful precision of Darin Brooks (Wyatt). So to be nominated for this is such a reward, and I’m incredibly grateful.”
