Jill Farren Phelps Out as Executive Producer of THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS!
Major behind the scenes changes at THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS have resulted in Jill Farren Phelps being let go as executive producer!
The soap has confirmed that Phelps is out, after having joined Y&R to much fanfare in 2012 after a successful run at ABC’s GENERAL HOSPITAL. During her tenure, she lured over some of her GH stars like Steve Burton (Dylan), Jason Thompson (Billy) and Kelly Sullivan (ex-Sage) to varying degrees of success with Y&R viewers.
“On behalf of everyone at the show we extend our sincere thanks to Jill for her years at Y&R and wish her continued success,” said Steve Kent, senior executive vice president, US programming for Sony Pictures Television.

Back in January, Y&R hired British soap producer Mal Young to join the team, and an insider says that he will be taking over as executive producer.
Phelps also brought Chuck Pratt on as headwriter of Y&R back in 2014, but there has been no word yet regarding the status of his position at the soap.
