John McCook Previews What’s Next for Eric and Donna on B&B!

Viewers of THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL were stunned when the soap recently revealed that Eric had been cheating on Quinn with Donna! However, portrayer John McCook admitted that he was just as surprised to learn of the storyline twist himself when reading his script! “I first found out about this when I turned the page and saw Eric under the sheets — and it was Donna, so that was pretty cool,” he revealed to Soap Opera Digest. “When you turn the page and there is a reveal like that, it is glorious.”

Less glorious, however, is the fact that Eric is cheating on his wife. “I don’t particularly like that Eric is breaking his marriage vows with Quinn,” McCook allowed. “It goes against his morality, for which he feels guilty. He doesn’t like doing this to Quinn but he also says, ‘I can’t stop thinking about Donna.’ He can’t help it.”

It’s been so long since Eric has been happy in a relationship, it’s understandable that he would grab that happiness wherever he can find it… in this case in Donna’s arms! “It is joyful and it is fun and it’s without anxiety and he gives in to it,” the actor says of the pairing. “I’m thinking, ‘Is this Eric being a horndog?’ That’s an old cliché that Eric is looking for sex outside of whatever marriage he is in, but he’s always looking for that kind of happiness and here it is.”

Of course, Quinn will definitely not be happy when she finds out what her husband has been doing behind her back! “They’ve set up the jealousy factor already, when Quinn persuaded Eric to fire Donna, so this will be a new chapter” McCook teased. “I can say, we are all enjoying this. Eric is thinking about himself and Donna, and yet he can’t get Quinn off his mind, either. Ramifications to follow!”
