THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL’s John McCook (Eric) may be a terrific actor, but when it comes to that broad smile which seems permanently etched upon his face, that’s no put-on. He really is that content with the life he’s carved out for himself and the career that he forged by never passing on an opportunity that fell at his feet.
Soaps In Depth caught up with McCook when he visited New York City as part of B&B’s pop-up fan event in September. Being in the City That Never Sleeps reminded the actor of his early career in musical theater and the crossroads he reached when Hollywood offered him an opportunity to make his mark in film and television.
“If I had stayed in New York all those years ago, I could have been a contender [on stage] in a way that I probably wouldn’t have been 10 years later,” he says, “but Warner Bros. signed me to a contract and sent me home to Southern California.”
