Raines Hits The Stage For Follies!
Since GUIDING LIGHT went off the air more than a year ago, Ron Raines (Alan) has kept himself busy singing in some of the country’s most famous concert halls, performing alongside renowned orchestras. And the actor’s next project will be just as grand: Raines will join famed Broadway performers Danny Burstein and Bernadette Peters for a production of the popular Stephen Sondheim musical Follies at The Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. “I’m thrilled to be returning to The Kennedy Center, and to be performing in Follies with such a star-studded cast,” Raines, a Broadway vet himself, tells Soaps In Depth. “I’ve always wanted to work with Bernadette Peters. I also look forward to, and am hoping to get, guidance from the master himself, Stephen Sondheim.”
Follies will run May 7 through June 9, 2011. Tickets go on sale January 24 for Kennedy Center Members, and on January 30 for the public. For more information, visit www.kennedy-center.org.
