B&B's Jacqueline MacInnes Wood Previews Steffy's Life After Beth

Liam was “playing family” with Steffy on THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL right up until the point where he discovered that Beth was actually his daughter with Hope. In an instant, Steffy’s plans for a future raising her daughters with Liam by her side went up in smoke! What’s she going to do now?

Jacqueline MacInnes Wood thinks her alter ego is strong enough to stand by the commitment she made last year to be a strong, independent woman. “I was very happy to play that story, and I do hope it continues,” the actress said to Soaps In Depth, adding that her alter ego’s attempts to hang on to a man who has long had a divided heart was the one issue she has always had with Steffy. “When you see someone going back to somebody who wasn’t treating them right, it hurts your heart to watch them go through that.”

That said, it’s only natural that Steffy might now need some time to take stock and decide where life will take her next. Even when she and Liam were living together earlier this summer, Wood thinks that relationship was more about stability for the babies than a sign that her ex wanted to recommit to her. “I think it was more for the girls,” she said. “There’s always going to be a soft spot in her heart for Liam, but it would take a lot of time and work for real feelings to return.”
