On July 20, the television families of THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL and THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS lost one of their own when makeup artist Jenna Wittman died. That day, Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki, Y&R) shared the sad news that it was time to say goodbye. “It is with a heavy heart that I share the tragic news of our decades-long friend and makeup artist extraordinaire, Jenna Wittman,” she expressed on Instagram. “On life support, with no hope of recovery, I said my goodbyes and wishes for a peaceful journey into her ear this morning. Please join me and the companies of Y&R and B&B in prayer, wishing her a speedy journey to the most loving eternity. We will always love you, Jenna.”
The following day, B&B supervising producer Casey Kasprzyk shared the news of her passing. “Yesterday, the B&B family lost an incredible makeup artist and human being, Jenna Wittman. Our hearts are heavy, but we smile remembering her sense of humor, dedication to craft, and ability to make everything and everyone better. Halloween 2018 — she made me Steven Spielberg.”

The comments to both of these social media posts were full of heartfelt messages of love and sympathy. “Mel, I’m thankful you could do this,” Beth Maitland (Traci, Y&R) expressed. “My heart is broken, but I am grateful for peace… and no more pain. Love you!” Ashley Jones (ex-Bridget, B&B) added: “Decades-long friendships. She was one of a kind” followed by a broken-heart emoji.
Our thoughts are with Wittman’s friends, family, and loved ones during this difficult time. For more Y&R and B&B news, keep reading the CBS edition of Soaps In Depth magazine.
