B&B’s Scott Clifton Reveals Secrets of Liam and Thomas’ Brutal Fight (EXCLUSIVE)

When THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL’s Scott Clifton (Liam) and Matthew Atkinson (Thomas) got to engage in some knock-down, drag-out fight sequences at the culmination of the Baby Beth storyline, things got ugly, though that was exactly as Clifton intended! “I really didn’t want it to be glamorous,” he insisted to Soaps In Depth. “I wanted it to be gritty and ugly and raw, and I wanted to show Liam and Thomas really hurting.” With Atkinson’s approval, Clifton lobbied the executive producer, Ed Scott, and the stunt coordinator to allow their characters to spend more time wrestling on the ground and getting physical with one another.

While his bosses were initially skeptical, Clifton says they were generous enough to meet him halfway. “So that whole fight sequence was a negotiation, and bless their hearts, they were really cool to let us shoot it that way,” he said. “I’m proud of what we got to do there, and it was really fun.”
