THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS’ Christel Khalil Lands an Exciting New Movie Role

In the summer of 2018, fans were upset when Christel Khalil announced her decision to drop to recurring status at THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS, and while that has meant seeing less of Lily Winters on screen, it has also given the actress the opportunity to pursue other roles. And now she’s landed a role in the new indie movie We Need to Talk! “So excited to announce I’m a part of this cast!” Khalil enthused on Instagram. “Can’t wait for you all to see this film. Such a funny script by Todd Wolfe!”
Written and directed by Todd Wolfe, the plot of the movie centers around a self-centered videogame celebrity, Great Scott Gamer, played by BIG TIME RUSH star James Maslow. He has no problem speaking to millions of fans online every day but can’t communicate with the real people in his life. So when his girlfriend — played by ARROW star Emily Bett Rickards — informs him: “We need to talk,” it throws him into a tailspin as he tries to figure out what she means and naturally, hilarity ensues! Khalil will be playing the role of Aly Fulton, although details on her character’s part in the comedy of errors isn’t yet known.

Since leaving Y&R, Khalil has been pursuing other acting opportunities while still appearing occasionally on the soap. She appeared in the Lifetime thriller, Sorority Stalker, alongside GENERAL HOSPITAL star Haley Pullos (Molly), back in November of 2018. Unfortunately, We Need to Talk has only just gone into production at the end of May, so a release date for the film has yet to be scheduled. But keep checking back because we’ll update you as soon as more details are revealed so you can watch Khalil in her newest role!
