It’s not even Thanksgiving yet, but Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea, THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS) is thrilled to be starring in the upcoming Hallmark Christmas movie, Holiday for Heroes, scheduled to premiere on Friday, Nov. 8 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. “So excited I can announce this now!” she tweeted when the news broke. “It’s Christmas in February! So excited to be shooting Holiday for Heroes. And this guy’s pretty rad, too.”
The guy she’s referring to is her co-star in the seasonal romance, actor Marc Blucas, as she shared an on-set photo of them looking all ready to open some Christmas presents. “Audrey is a hard worker,” Egan previews of her character. “She owns her own sweet little coffee shop with her best friend, Jade, and she starts writing love letters to First Sergeant Matt Evans.” After she sends him some of her coffee, he writes a thank you note that starts off an exchange that eventually leads to a face-to-face meeting. “Audrey and Matt’s relationship is really special because they got to know each other through letters and they got to know each other as people, as human beings, before they ever met face to face,” the actress explains. “So it’s a very rare, unique, beautiful, romantic story.” You can watch a special behind the scenes look at Holiday for Heroes at Hallmark’s official website.
Daytime fans first fell in love with Egan when she played Annie Lavery on ABC sudser ALL MY CHILDREN from 2006-11. She then joined the cast of Y&R as Chelsea Lawson, where she remained until 2018. Fans were thrilled when she returned to Genoa City in July of 2019, and they can now look forward to seeing even more of her in this romantic new movie.
