THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS and THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL Are Preempted on Friday

Sorry, soap fans! While the actual New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day occur on Saturday and Sunday this year, the holiday is still affecting the daytime lineup. THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS and THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL will both be preempted on Friday, Dec. 30, for CBS Sports coverage of the Sun Bowl.

Now, while the Pittsburg Panthers won’t be facing off against the UCLA Bruins in El Paso TX, until 2 p.m. ET, CBS has opted to nationally preempt Y&R and B&B that day so that no one has to worry about finding the soaps on CBS.com or Paramount+ so they can stay caught up on all the drama if it was interrupted in their area. 

If Y&R is still broadcast in your area, you’ll find CBS running an encore episode of the classic Masquerade Ball episode that originally aired on Oct. 2, 1991. And the network will be airing the Aug. 1, 2022 episode of B&B where the cops closed in on Sheila as Steffy was stunned to reunite with a presumed-dead Finn in Monaco.

So enjoy the flashback episodes if they’re on in your area, and remember, don’t bother looking for Friday’s episodes of Y&R or B&B on CBS.com or Paramount+ because they don’t exist. Just be sure to tune in on Monday, Jan. 2, where the drama will pick up right where it left off on Thursday, Dec. 29!
