THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS is the number one drama in daytime for the 27th year in a row!
CBS announced that the soap has marked its 1,405th week at the top of the ratings, a streak that began back on December 26, 1988. For the past week, Y&R averaged 4.79 million viewers, and for the season, is averaging 5.08 million viewers, landing it second in all daytime programming only behind THE PRICE IS RIGHT.
“Spending a few seasons at #1 is a remarkable achievement for any show in television today, but to accomplish 27 years at the top is truly Hall of Fame status,” said Angelica McDaniel, Head of CBS Daytime and Syndicated Development. “This success is a testament to the incredible passion and hard work of the cast, staff and crew on THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS, led by Jill Farren Phelps and Charles Pratt, Jr., Sony Pictures, Bell Dramatic Serial Company and CBS Daytime. All of our efforts would mean nothing without the most dedicated fans in daytime who have made Genoa City their home, many for years. Congratulations to all involved for this success!”
