THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS’ Tracey E. Bregman Didn’t Believe She Was Nominated for a Daytime Emmy!
Tracey E. Bregman (Lauren, THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS) was so surprised to be nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress at this year’s Daytime Emmy Awards, she literally couldn’t believe it had really happened!
The actress tells Soaps In Depth she was on a flight to Florida and discovered the plane was airing THE TALK so she could watch the announcement live. “I didn’t want to wake my boyfriend up in case it didn’t happen,” she adds, “so I was letting him sleep until they called my name, and then I started hitting him!
“Then I started to think ‘Oh my God, I woke him up so fast, are they sure that they called my name?!’” Bregman continues with a laugh. “I started to question myself and I had to pay $20 to get Internet to go online to see!”
And of course, being on a cramped airplane meant she couldn’t celebrate the exciting news the way she really wanted to. “I couldn’t jump up and down and yell,” she smiles. “They would’ve taken me off!”
Bregman has been nominated in the supporting category in 2006 and 2008, and won Outstanding Ingenue in 1985, but this is her first time up for lead. “I was kind of like, ‘Oh my God! That’s so cool!’ she enthuses. “Listen, so one could be more stunned than me! And I’m thrilled. I’m blown away that I get to share company with the women that I’m nominated with.”
