If you haven’t jumped in to one of the fall’s hottest new shows, THIS IS US, you’ve still got time to catch up before the second episode airs tonight at 10 p.m. ET on NBC! And series star Justin Hartley (ex-Adam, THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS) shares a sneak peek of the latest plot twists coming up for his character!

First off, Hartley was thrilled to discover that this episode introduces Katey Sagal as his character’s agent, Lanie, and Brad Garrett as Wes, a network executive. “When I found out that they were going to be taking those roles, of course I was happy for the show,” he confides to Soaps In Depth. “But then to find out that I’m the one working with them, it’s like ‘Wow, I won the lottery.’

“Katey is the master,” he adds. “She’s a brilliant actor. And Brad is maybe the funniest human being I’ve ever been around in my entire life.”

Hartley previews that his alter ego, Kevin, has put his acting career in jeopardy after his on-set outburst in the first episode, and must face the repercussions of his actions. “Kevin’s agent is like, ‘Let’s smooth this whole thing over,’” he teases. “Kevin’s not sure he wants to, but she convinces him that this is sort of what you have to do.

“So you see how that unfolds,” Hartley continues. “Will Kevin melt down again? Will he grow up? What’s going to happen?”
