Before he ended up in front of the camera, THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS’ Daniel Goddard (Cane) ended up… well, in front of another kind of camera, when he earned his paycheck as a model. “I’ve done New York Fashion Week, which was great,” he told Soaps In Depth with a grin. “I did Calvin Klein underwear, and a Dolce & Gabbana sunglass campaign. Modeling is fun, but there is such a stigma that you’re not smart.”

While Goddard acknowledged that there are some posers who might have had a vacant stare behind the eyes, successful models needed to be actively engaged. “Really good models who make a lot of money are very talented, because you have to sell the product and know what you’re doing,” explained Goddard, “including understanding lighting and angles.” As for his own career on the runway, Goddard looked back at it fondly. “I had a good time, but I was at a point in my life where I wanted more — it didn’t complete me!”
