Alison Sweeney Previews Her Latest Hallmark ‘Wedding Veil’ Movie
Hallmark Channel has continued its popular The Wedding Veil series this month with a trilogy of sequels, and the third installment will air on Saturday, January 21, at 8 p.m. ET — focusing on Tracy and Nick, the couple played by former DAYS OF OUR LIVES stars Alison Sweeney (ex-Sami) and Victor Webster (ex-Nicholas).
Called The Wedding Veil Journey, the movie follows Tracy and Nick as they take a long-overdue honeymoon in Greece. After a travel snafu leaves the couple without a hotel room, they end up staying at a fledgling inn run by siblings Tessa and Xander on a secluded Greek island. When restauranteur Nick discovers that Xander is filling in for the inn’s chef — and is a horrible cook, as it turns out — he can’t help but lend a hand in the kitchen. Meanwhile, Tracy forms a friendship with a charming young boy from the local boarding school named Leo and also finds herself embroiled in a bit of a mystery when elegant Lady Dalton and her grandson, Colin, check into the quaint inn: The veil, which Tracy had brought along to Greece to later give to Nick’s sister, keeps winding up in Colin’s room. As sparks fly between Colin and Tessa, a skeptical Tracy may have to admit that there is something to the veil’s magical legend.
“This movie is all about how they really saw their life a certain way,” Sweeney previewed in a live chat with her co-stars about the relationship between career-driven Tracy and Nick, “and maybe things are going to come at them to make them make new choices.”
The antique wedding veil at the center of the movies is fabled to unite its bearer with her true love. While Tracy, Emma, and Avery all found their soulmates in the first trilogy, the veil is now working its magic on other characters in the sequel movies. “There’s a very interesting clandestine journey that the veil goes on,” teases Webster of which couple will get hitched in The Wedding Veil Journey. “To be able to follow along with that, it’s kind of a mystery and it’s fun, part of this particular movie, to help solve that mystery.”
The Wedding Veil Journey was partially filmed on location in Greece, and Sweeney shared several photos from the amazing trip on Instagram. “Traveling to Greece to film The Wedding Veil was just another magical element of being a part of these movies,” she captioned a photo of herself gazing out over Anthony Quinn Bay on the island of Rhodes. “I am so grateful for the opportunity to work with Lacey, Autumn, and Victor. I just can’t wait for Saturday night to watch with all of you!”
