After studying theater at New York University, Andrews has appeared in over 100 film and television roles, including originating the character of Valerie Grant on DAYS from 1975-77, one-half of daytime’s first interracial romance. And her role as Kunta Kinte’s girlfriend, Aurelia, in the classic miniseries Roots led to her relationship with literary mentor Alex Haley. They collaborated on the PBS miniseries Alex Haley’s Great Men of African Descent, which subsequently led to Andrews selling her first scrip to Colombia Pictures.

Andrews is an inspirational writer, artist, and performer, who is currently the book writer for the new musical I’m Every Woman: The Chaka Khan Musical, which is coming to London’s West End. She will have so much to talk about you won’t want to miss it!
