DAYS’ Lauren Koslow Mourns the Loss of Her Mother

Please join us in sending love to Days of Our Lives star Lauren Koslow (Kate), who is mourning the death of her beloved mother at the age of 99. “My mom passed on last week just two months shy of her 100th trip around the sun,” the actress shared on Instagram with a carousel of beautiful family photos. “It was an unexpected exit, even at her age, but that was her style.

“Milli was one of the most spontaneous, dynamic, adventurous, complicated, passionate, funny, and powerful women I’ve ever known,” she continued. “An artist, storyteller, traveler, and businesswoman. A mom, grandmother, and wife. I’ll miss you forever and d day but I’m glad you’re reunited with the love of your life. Kiss Daddy for us. Love you, Mama.”

Koslow’s father, Donald, passed away in 2018. She also included a pair of quotes in her post that also expressed her feelings. The first was from E.E. Cummings: “To be nobody but yourself in a world which is doing its best day and night to make you like everybody else means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight and never stop fighting.”

The second was from Maria Popova. “One of the hardest realizations in life, and one of the most liberating, is that our mothers are neither saints nor saviors — they are just people who, however messy or painful our childhood may have been, and however complicated the adult relationship, have loved us the best way they knew how, with the cards they were dealt and the tools they had. It is a whole life’s work to accept this elemental fact, and a life’s triumph to accept it not with bitterness but with love.”
