DAYS OF OUR LIVES Preempted for Two Weeks

Get ready for some seriously major cliffhangers to rock Salem as DAYS OF OUR LIVES will not be airing for two whole weeks! The soap will be preempted from Friday, July 23, through Friday, Aug. 6 so that NBC can broadcast extensive coverage of the 2020 Olympic Games from Tokyo, Japan.
The Olympics were originally scheduled to be held last year at this time, but were postponed due to the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic, which is why they are still considered the 2020 Games. As the virus continues to surge around the world, the games are still being held, but with new restrictions, such as no public spectators being permitted.

With Sami having destroyed Nicole and Eric’s marriage and Nic out for revenge, Ben determined to put a stop to Ciara’s wedding before she can make Theo her new husband, and EJ on the verge of discovering Sami cheated on him with Lucas, there are plenty of dramatic storylines that will build to big cliffhangers on Thursday, July 22.
And after you’ve enjoyed the 2020 Olympic games, you can get ready for the action on DAYS to pick up right where it left off when the soap returns with all-new episodes on Monday, Aug. 9! Then you’ll finally be able to see how the various cliffhangers resolve themselves and propel the drama in new directions!
