Gloria Loring Returns to DAYS OF OUR LIVES!
It looks like DAYS OF OUR LIVES is pulling out all the stops for the episodes honoring Doug Williams and his portrayer, the late Bill Hayes. Hot on the heels of Stephen Schnetzer revealing that he would be coming back to the soap as Julie’s brother, Steve Olson for some episodes, Deidre Hall (Marlena) let slip during an appearance on The Locher Room that Gloria Loring will be returning as Liz Chandler!
Loring debuted on DAYS back in 1980 as Liz Chandler, a singer (like her portrayer!) who became the headline act at Doug’s Place. One of her most memorable songs performed on the soap, “Friends and Lovers,” was so popular that when it was released as a single, it became a hit, reaching number 2 on the Pop chart and number one on the Adult Contemporary chart!
After years of drama in Salem (including being kidnapped by Stefano, going to jail for shooting Marie Horton, suffering amnesia, a plane crash, and more!), Liz divorced her husband, Neil Curtis, and left town in 1986. When she comes back again to honor the man who helped her career with his club, fans will find out what she’s been up to since then!
