Rachel Melvin Returns to DAYS OF OUR LIVES

The guest list for Victor’s funeral continues to grow as Rachel Melvin returns to DAYS OF OUR LIVES as Chelsea Brady for the first time since 2009. Soap Opera Digest first broke the news, reporting that she will air in the Thursday, Sept. 7 episode.

“I had kind of put it out into the ether when John Aniston passed away that he meant a lot to me because he did,” Melvin told Digest. “I had talked to Martha Madison (Belle) and said, ‘I know you’re on the show right now. If you hear of any funeral arrangements or anything like that, please let me know because I really want to pay my respects.’ I don’t know if maybe that got passed around or something, but before I knew it my manager was calling.”

The daughter of Bo Brady and Billie Reed, Chelsea Brady first appeared in 2004 played by Mandy Musgrave. Melvin took over the role in 2005 and exited in 2009 when she got engaged to Max Brady and the pair decided to leave Salem and move to London. In 2022, it was mentioned that Chelsea was expecting a baby.

After leaving DAYS in 2009, Melvin could be seen in primetime in episodes of shows like HEROES, HOUSE, CASTLE, BONES, SLEEPWALKER, and CHICAGO MED. The actress has also appeared in movies like My Funny Valentine, Zombeavers, Dumb and Dumber To, The Thin Line, and The Trouble With Mistletoe.
