Soap Vet Michael Lowry Joins the Cast of DAYS OF OUR LIVES!

There’s a new doctor checking into DAYS OF OUR LIVES! On the heels of the news that Heather Lindell will be back in action as Jan starting next week comes word that soap hopper Michael Lowry has been tapped to play the role of Dr. Snyder.

According to Soap Opera Digest, Lowry’s new character will interact with Jan, Belle, and Shawn… but how? During Lindell’s last appearance on DAYS as Shawn’s nutty ex back in November, Jan managed to prevent the love of her life from remarrying Belle by taking the bride-to-be hostage. But she didn’t stop there. The troubled woman forced Shawn to marry her instead, with Marlena presiding! When Shawn refused to kiss his bride, Jan claimed that she’d shot and killed Belle, leading John to snap and choke her unconscious! The character has been in a coma ever since, and since Jan had never actually applied for a marriage license, Shawn was free to reunite with Belle, who had somehow ended up in Philip’s bed that night!

Jan’s name has been dropped here and there in recent weeks, and it’s a safe bet to say that she’s going to have an axe to grind with the Brady and Black families once she awakens from her latest coma! Might Dr. Snyder be another pawn in Jan’s plans to claim Shawn for herself?

As for Lowry, DAYS marks the actor’s fifth soap opera. He’s best known for playing Jake Martin on ALL MY CHILDREN from 1996-2001, and he’s also had stints as Les Sweeney on AS THE WORLD TURNS from 2004-’05, Dr. Hillman on THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL in 2006, and Ross Rayburn on ONE LIFE TO LIVE from 2009-’10.
