Victoria Konefal Will Be Back on DAYS OF OUR LIVES This Summer
Ciara may have just left Salem with Theo, but Victoria Konefal is coming back to DAYS OF OUR LIVES this summer, assures the soap’s headwriter, Ron Carlivati. In a recent interview, the scribe admitted that writing for the popular couple of Ben and Ciara became a challenge when the actress wanted to leave the show but the actor didn’t. With Konefal on recurring status, DAYS has had to write around her absences to continue telling Cin’s story, which he promises is not over yet.
“I’m happy to announce here that Ciara is coming back and we are going to tell that next chapter of the story and hopefully, this time, the audience will get the payoff that they’re looking for and hoping for,” Carlivati told Soap Opera Digest, though he didn’t have any details at this time. “I don’t have the exact date in front of me but she’s coming back this summer. I would encourage the audience to remember that they have an important anniversary coming up this summer that may figure into their story, so she will be back sooner than you know.”
Ben and Ciara proved a breakout supercouple for DAYS, so when Konefal went to recurring back in July 2017, they had her character presumed dead knowing that she would one day be back. And bringing her back with partial amnesia, unable to remember her love for Ben, helped facilitate this subsequent exit because if the couple were happily reunited, why would Ciara choose to leave Ben again?
“I can’t speak for Victoria and I can’t speak for the show, and this is not an official announcement in any capacity, but I will say at this point, there is not an end date,” Carlivati said of how long Konefal would be back for later this year. “We are working with Victoria to keep the story going and keep Ben and Ciara’s love story alive. I can understand the audience’s frustration, but I am very excited about Victoria’s return and about Ciara’s return, and I think that this time, they may be getting the payoff that they’re looking for.”
