Are Laura Wright and Wes Ramsey Getting Married? — The Actress Speaks Out!
In a rare Instagram Live video, GENERAL HOSPITAL star Laura Wright (Carly) sat down to talk to fans about some of the products she’s been endorsing on social media lately as well as to share some of her favorite books. And then, towards the end, she took some questions from viewers, and naturally, someone asked when she and real-life love — and GH co-star — Wes Ramsey (Peter) would get married!
“We get asked that question, I can’t tell you…” Wright sighed before admitting, “Right now, we’re good. Life is good. We don’t really feel the need to… It’s not calling us. But we love our life and life is good.”
Wright and Ramsey first met back in the early aughts when they played Cassie and Sam, respectively, on CBS sudser GUIDING LIGHT. But it wasn’t until many years later, during a party celebrating the 2017 Daytime Emmy Awards that the pair reconnected and sparks flew. “What seemed to the outside world as a coincidence of circumstance — running into each other at a party after so many years — I knew instantly in that moment that my life as I knew it was shifting,” Ramsey said of that moment.
A month or so after that chance meeting, Wright and Ramsey went public with their relationship and have been inseparable ever since. The Ramseys have welcomed Wright into their family, and Ramsey himself is now part of Wright’s clan. The couple even added to their own family unit in December 2020 when they welcomed mini goldendoodle Kimba into their home.
Back in March 2020, Wright had to clarify her relationship with Ramsey after eagle-eyed fans spotted a ring on her left hand and jumped to the conclusion that they were engaged. She corrected them just as she did with the viewers who suspected she and Ramsey were expecting a child when Carly was pregnant on GH.
So while there may not be wedding bells in their future, Wright and Ramsey continue to be happily head-over-heels for each other. “Wes is just a saint and a joy and absolutely hilarious,” Wright declared towards the end of her video, which she was trying to cut short as castmate Maurice Benard (Sonny) was also going live on Instagram and she wanted to let fans watch both of them!
