Ashton Arbab Says Goodbye to GENERAL HOSPITAL
Among the victims of the Floating Rib explosion on GENERAL HOSPITAL was young Dev and Ashton Arbab took to social media to express his thanks to everyone involved in his run on the soap. “I am forever grateful to producer Frank Valentini and [casting director] Mark Teschner for this amazing opportunity,” he tweeted. “It was such an honor to have worked alongside of such talented actors and I’m beyond blessed for your friendship. Most of all, thank you, GH fans!”
Arbab made his daytime debut as Dev in March 2019 when the teenage pickpocket helped Sonny track down his son, Dante, in Turkey. Although he was initially on for only a handful of episodes, the young actor made his way to Port Charles as Dev resurfaced in June, having broken into Lulu and Dante’s home! Sonny took the teen in and forged documents to make it appear that he was a member of his family, and Dev quickly found himself part of the town’s teen scene, getting tangled up with Cameron, Josslyn, and Trina.
Sadly, Dev did not survive the bomb that Julian planted in the Floating Rib that also took the life of Mark Lawson’s Dustin, and Arbab’s run on GH came to a tragic end. However, the talented young performer has already found plenty of work outside of daytime — he recently appeared in the Netflix Halloween film A Babysitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting — so we’ll be sure to let you know of any future projects he has lined up!
