Avery Pohl Leaves GENERAL HOSPITAL

When Spencer knocked Esme overboard to save Trina on GENERAL HOSPITAL, both characters were presumed dead. However, while viewers know that Nicholas Chavez (Spencer) will return to the soap after he finishes filming his new series for Netflix, it comes as quite a surprise that Avery Pohl (Esme) will not. 

Soap Opera Digest is reporting that a rep for GH has confirmed that Pohl has left the show and her final episode was the Jan. 31 episode where Esme and Spencer went into the water.

Pohl joined the cast of GH back in August 2021 and her eavesdropping nurse was revealed to be Esme Prince, girlfriend to Spencer Cassadine. She had been helping Spencer torment Ava Jerome, and soon became intrigued with Ryan Chamberlin, who turned out to be her father. And if that wasn’t bad enough, Heather Webber was her mom!

After Esme suffered amnesia and gave birth to her son, Ace, she was a whole new person, and it almost appeared as if she was going to start fresh. Unfortunately, once her memories came back, so did her determination to take revenge on Spencer and Trina.

Her vengeance took a fatal turn, however, and Esme is now presumed dead. Of course, given that there’s no body, there’s every chance the young villainess could resurface to stir up even more trouble in the future. Heck, even when there is a body, that doesn’t stop some soap characters from coming back! So stay tuned to see what the future holds!
